Load growth in the Southeast is skyrocketing.  To keep pace safely, the industry must pivot to address the operational realities of hyper-scale computational demand.  Join CAPER as we address these critical emerging issues defining this transformation:  

  • Fault-driven major loss-of-load events
  • Load-and-system interaction oscillations
  • The operational push toward co-locating generation and rapid load centers

Research Impact Notice: CAPER researchers will hear targeted assessments designed to directly shape the priorities for the CAPER 2027 Research Proposal Solicitation.  A formal RFP announcement will be released December 15th, 2026.

Additional In-Person Meeting Details:
  • Please visit the registration table each day for check-in information and to receive a name badge.
  •  Wednesday sessions include continental breakfast and lunch.  A reception and CAPER project poster session will take place 5:00-7:00 pm. (Closed Session – Open to CAPER Members Only)
  • Thursday workshop sessions include continental breakfast and research lunch. 
  • Multiple guided DEV tours will be provided to CAPER Members and Non-Members, please see agenda for scheduled times.
  • Site Tour Registration & Security Requirement:  Attendees are required to complete Dominion Energy’s pre-approval form by October 19th (contact shannon.jenkins@charlotte.edu for form requests).  Late submissions cannot be accommodated.  
  • All workshop and tour participants must present a valid, government-issued photo ID upon arrival to pass through security checkpoints.
